Monkey Hug Gift Card Holder



Monkey Hug Gift Card Holder-JMRush
Approximate Card size: W 3.75” X H 5.75”

This design features character arms that open to a hidden gift card pocket. This design is perfect for giving gift cards for Birthdays or for any occasion. This design is compatible with both 8X12 and 12X12 mats and fits most gift cards.







1.Cut design pieces. (I used double sided card stock for the card base) 
2. Fold the card along score lines. 
3. Apply glue the bottom of the side tabs on the card base. Secure by folding upward toward the card base.
4.Glue the large monkey head to the solid monkey head base. 
5. Glue the small monkey face to the combined monkey head. Glue the ear and cheek pieces in the coordinating spaces on the combined monkey head.
6. Use pieces of foam adhesive squares to attach the nose and top notch hair to the combined monkey head. 
7. Use a foam adhesive square to attach the tail to the back of the card base.
8.Use foam adhesive squares to attach the combined monkey head to the card base. Insert gift card and fold section upward. The hands tuck into the slots on the front.
9. Use a foam adhesive square to attach the heart in the center of the hands. Finish with ribbon and add adhesive dots for the eyes:)

Monkey Holding Hearts Box

This Heart Box is perfect to hold your goodies for Valentine’s Day or birthday parties. This design is compatible with both 8X12 and 12X12 mats.

  1. The Box- Cut the box base design.
  2. Flip the box base over ( pretty side down and curved tab up) Fold score lines.
  3. Apply glue to the two small vertical side tabs at the bottom of the box base.
  4. Secure the two small vertical side tabs to the 1 inch (width) rectangles just above them.
  5. Apply glue to the very left corner of the horizontal tab just below the two side tabs that you just glued. ( My finger is pointing to the section in the photo:) Secure this corner to the vertical tab to the left.
  6. Apply glue to the topside of the same vertical tab and secure the final panel creating a complete box.
  7. - 9.The tab fits into the slot to close.
The Monkey-
1.Cut design pieces. (I used double sided cardstock for the body piece with arms and legs) Glue the largest monkey face with cutouts and ears to the solid monkey face base. Glue the smaller face to the combined monkey face piece. Glue the inner ears and cheeks to the coordinating shapes on the combined monkey face. Use a small piece of foam adhesive square to attach the nose. Use foam adhesive squares to stack the hearts from largest on bottom to smallest on top.
2. Use foam adhesive squares to attach the monkey combined head to the body base.
3. use a foam adhesive square to attach the monkey tail to the monkey’s backside.
4.  Glue the combined stacked hearts to the inside of the monkey’s hands.( I used hot glue) This will make the monkey’s arms curve inward. You may need to press down gently on the monkey’s arms to position the heart where you like it.

5. - 6.Curve the monkey’s legs as you like. Use foam adhesive squares to secure your completed monkey to the box:)

Monkey Snack Bag Topper

This snack bag topper features character arms and head that fold over a resealable plastic bag. This design is perfect for Valentine’s Day or birthday parties. 



1.Cut design pieces. (I used double sided cardstock for the topper base). (The legs/feet of the monkey were modified after the tutorial was made… sometimes tutorials are a work in progress for me;)
2. Fold the score lines. Glue the monkey face to the solid monkey face base. Using foam adhesive squares, attach the smaller heart to the larger one. 
3. Glue the small monkey face, cheeks and inner ear pieces to their coordinating shapes on the monkey face.
4.-5. Using foam adhesive squares, attach the nose to the combined face and then the combined monkey face to the topper base. Glue the combined hearts to the monkey’s tummy.
6. Using a foam adhesive square, attach the tail to the monkey’s backside.
7. Apply hot glue to the inside of the topper base just underneath the score lines, where the arms fold over. (You want to make sure that the arms can still fold down.) 
8.  Center and secure your open resealable plastic bag to the hot glue line. Make sure that only one side of the plastic bag is glued down so that you can still open it. I used a snack sized plastic bag (W 6.5” x H 4.25”)
9. Fill with treats. I finished the monkey with enamel adhesive dots to accent the eyes and ribbon:)

Monkey Hug Treat Box

Approximate box size: W 3.25” x D 2.25 x H .75” (H 4.25” including Monkey head)


This treat box features character arms that open to a small treat box. This design is perfect for Valentine’s Day or birthday parties. This design is compatible with both 8X12 and 12X12 mats. 

1.Cut design pieces. (I used double sided cardstock for the card base).
2. Glue the monkey head to the monkey head solid base. Using a piece of foam adhesive square, attach the hair tuft to the coordinating shape on the box base.
3. Glue the monkey face to the combined monkey head piece. Glue the ear pieces and cheeks into place.
4. Using a foam adhesive square, attach the muzzle to the nose to the combined face. Fold the box base along score lines. It is not necessary to fold the score lines closest to the tip of each hoof.
5. Apply glue to the two top tabs and secure them to the top (head) panel.
6. Apply glue to the bottom two tabs and secure them to the bottom panel creating a box.
7. -8.Apply glue to the bottom of the bottom section of the narrow strip. Attach to the back of the box. 
9.-10. Using foam adhesive squares, attach the head on the front of the box and the tail on the back.
11. -12. The paws tuck into the slots on the narrow strip in the center. Attach a foam adhesive square in the center of this strip and secure the heart into place. I finished the monkey with enamel adhesive dots to accent the eyes and a ribbon for a girl monkey:)
