Arrow Heart

Arrow Heart-JMRush

This design utilizes a pencil or two 6” Pixy Stix as it’s base and is compatible with both 8X12 and 12X12 mats. Great for classroom or office Valentine’s Day parties.

You can purchase the Silhouette design file here: https://www.silhouettedesignstore.com/artists/485222

  1. Cut Design pieces.
  2. Fold shapes at the score lines.
  3. Apply glue to the backside of one section of the top feather (stoping at the score lines)
  4. Attach one side of the second feather to the area where you applied glue.  Allow to dry.
  5. Apply glue to the backside of one section of the third feather ( stoping at the score lines).
  6. Attach one side of the fourth feather to the area where you applied glue.  Allow to dry.
  7. Apply glue to the backside of one section of the first heart ( stoping at the score lines).
  8. Attach one side of the second heart to the area where you applied glue.  Allow to dry.
  9. Apply glue to the backside of one section of the third heart ( stoping at the score lines).
  10. Attach one side of the fourth heart to the area where you applied glue.  Allow to dry.
  11. Curve the two rectangular tab pieces. (I used the pencil that I used as a base to get the circular shape.)
  12. Apply glue to the bottom edge just under the slot in the rectangular tab.
  13. Insert the tab into the slot.
  14. Tuck the tab all the way into the slot and allow the glue to dry. ( I placed this piece back on to the end of the pencil temporarily to make sure it kept it’s shape:)
  15. Apply glue to the center of one of the combined feather pieces at the broadest center point.
  16. Place one of the rectangular tab pieces ( which is a cylinder shape now) in the center of the combined feather and allow to dry; aligning in the center and at the top.
17.  Apply glue to the sides of this combined piece and to the center cylindrical piece.
18. Attach the other combined feather piece; aligning at the edges. (You may need apply pressure to the outside of the center to make sure the second set of feathers adheres to the cylinder inside.)
19. Apply glue to the center of one of the combined heart pieces at the broadest center point.
20. Place one of the rectangular tab pieces ( which is a cylinder shape now) in the center of the combined heart and allow to dry; aligning in the center and at the top.
21. Apply glue to the sides of this combined piece and to the center cylindrical piece.
22. Attach the other combined heart piece; aligning at the edges. (You may need to apply pressure to the outside of the center and at the center end point to make sure the second set of hearts adheres to the cylinder inside.)
23. This is what it should look like:)
24. Place the combined feather piece on the eraser end of a pencil and the heart section at the lead end. Finish with a ribbon.
25.-26. You can also use two 6” Pixy Stix for the base of this project. You may need to squeeze the ends a bit to make them more pointed to fit into the combined feathers and hearts:)
