Schnauzer Dog Basket-JMR
Approximate Box size: H 2.50” X W 3” X D 2.50”
Approximate Design size: H 5.50” X W 4” including handle

This cute Schnauzer Dog Basket is a perfect gift container for dog lovers or for dog treats. This design is compatible with both 8X12 and 12X12 mats.

You can purchase the Silhouette design file here:

You can purchase the SVG and Cricut compatible file here:  Coming Soon:)

  1. Cut the design pieces. I used double sided card stock.
  2. Glue the red collar and yellow circle tag to the coordinating shapes on the black dog silhouette. Glue one of the two light gray fur pieces to the front of the basket base; centering it and aligning at the score line on the full dog silhouette shape. Glue the black paw prints to the slightly larger gray paw prints; centering them. Glue the light gray muzzle piece to the gray dog face silhouette with eye cut outs; aligning the edges.
  3. Flip the basket base as shown. Fold the basket base at the score lines. Glue the combined gray face piece with eye cut outs to the combined black dog silhouette piece; aligning at the top and edges. Glue the white paw print pieces with cut outs to the combined paw prints.
  4. Apply glue to the top two tabs and secure to the rounded backside piece just above.
  5. Apply glue to the bottom two tabs and secure to the dog silhouette piece just below; creating a box.
  6. Use foam adhesive squares to attach the combined dog face to the coordinating shape on the basket base.
  7. Use foam adhesive squares to attach the small muzzle piece to the combined face. Use foam adhesive squares to attach the front two paws to the front of the basket base.
  8. Use small pieces of foam adhesive squares to attach the eyebrows. Glue the nose into place on the combined face.
  9. Curve the tongue as you like. Apply glue to the top and secure just underneath the small muzzle piece (optional). I used adhesive jewels to accentuate the eyes.
  10. Turn the basket to the back side. Glue the second fur piece to the center of the dog backside; center and align at the bottom.
  11. Attach the tail and combined back paws to the dog backside using foam adhesive squares.
  12. Insert the handle piece into the slots on each side of the combined basket.
  13. I finished with a ribbon:)

  1. Your darling schnauzer has not hit the Silhouette Design Store yet.....Do you have any idea when it will be available in their store?

  2. Hi LeAnn:)
I have my fingers crossed that Silhouette will issue it tomorrow, but it should for sure be in by the end of the week:)
    Thanks so much!

  3. I just found your design today - it is adorable!! I had both a schnauzer (who looked like this one, with uncropped ears!) and a Scottish terrier. Unfortunately, my schnauzer passed away a few years ago - but I will still be using this basket! I know this design was JUST released, but is there any way to get a modification of this basket for a Scottish terrier or a schnauzer with cropped ears (they're generally similar, in terms of the 'Silhouette basket' sense)? I am definitely willing to provide pictures of my Scottie, Ruby!

If I were more well-versed with a Silhouette, I would attempt it myself, but I honestly and sincerely would rather pay a designer for their work, even if it means buying another complete design that only has one small difference! ;-) I'm an artist myself (albeit not a digital one!), and value the time it takes to make something!

    1. Hi Courtney:)
Sorry for delay...I've been away from the studio. I will add it to my request list. My request list is very long so, it may be awhile. Thank you for your kind words and interest!

  4. It would be helpful to have every sentence broken out into its own step.

I would also like to see instructions for each area to be sequential (all paw steps together, for instance), and the basket part last.

ADORABLE, and thank you for making this!

    1. Hi Wendy:)
I will try to keep your suggestions in mind when I shoot my next tutorial. The concern becomes having a very lengthy image tutorial if each step is separate and contains an image...I don't want it to look overwhelming:) Thanks so much!

  5. I just made this adorable basket! We have a mini-schnauzer named Rosie, who is a pistol. You can view it on my Facebook page: & scroll down to today's date.

I didn't realize there was a tutorial for it, since I bought it directly from the Silhouette store & was viewing the downloaded file's properties in the Silhouette Design Studio software. So would it be possible to include your blog's link (just the general one) so we can search for tutorials? Thanks for considering my suggestion.

Hubby loved his basket!! Rosie, is a Black and silver miniature who we should have named Bandit since she is always trying to snag anything that she can. It's been a good experience, and she's a spoiled princess, which her 2 brothers don't really appreciate.

    Thank you--

    Jann Schott

    1. Hi Jann:) Thanks for kind words and for taking the time to write in:) There is a blog link for each of my Silhouette designs to the right side on the description page. ( The page that you click on when you purchase the design:) Give Rosie hugs and have a great day!
