Hummingbird Lantern (Flameless)

Hummingbird Lantern (Flameless)-JMRush

Approximate Lantern size: W 3 x D 3 x H 7.5” (H 8” with Circle Hanger)

This Flameless lantern features a hummingbird design which is wrapped around each of the four sides. A layered transparent frosted effect is created when vellum paper is used. This design is compatible with both 8X12 and 12X12 mats.

1.Cut design pieces. ( I used double sided card stock and vellum paper)

2. Flip the two lantern pieces over ( pretty side down) and apply glue around the inner edge of the opening and attach the vellum rectangles. ( Helpful hint:You may need to place a heavy object (book) on top of the vellum to keep it from getting wavy while drying).

3. Apply glue to the circle hanger hanger and attach to the top of the second and fourth peak on the lantern base as shown. ( Makes sure that both are placed symmetrically in height).

4. Flipping the combined lantern bases over, apply glue to the backside of the green hummingbird panels and align over each silhouette window on the combined lantern base.

5. Apply glue to the backside of the side view flower and attach to the coordinating shape on the combined lantern base.

6. Using foam adhesive squares, attach the hummingbird silhouettes to the hummingbird window panels; aligning with each coordinating shape.

7. Apply glue to the backside of the combined hummingbird window panels and attach to the coordinating shapes on the combined lantern base.

8. Apply glue to the long side tab on the right hand side of the second combined lantern base.

9. Attach the first combined lantern base on top of the second combined lantern base’s tab and secure (joining the two base pieces). Make sure the panels are aligned at the bottom. Glue the last purple flower piece to each coordinating shape on each panel.

10. Fold the lantern base at the score lines. Apply glue to the first combined lantern base’s long side tab on the very left side. Secure the long side tab to the other side creating a box.

13. Apply glue to the top tab with the circle hanger and secure it to the triangular panel to it’s left side.

14.-18. Repeat for the next tab. Continue applying glue to the top tabs until the top is complete. Apply glue to the other side of the circle hanger piece and secure to the opposite side inside the lantern.

19. I use a long object (pencil) to help secure the tabs from the inside of the lantern top.

20. Curve the flower petals and leaves as you like.

21. Using foam adhesive squares, attach the purple flower to the black flower base; alternating the petals.

22. Repeat for the silver flower to the combined flower. Glue the inside tiny green flower shape to the inside of the combined flower.

23. Glue the leaves on the back of the combined flower.

24. Using a foam adhesive square, attach the combined flower to the lantern on the side which has the circle hanger facing you.

25. Fold the score lines on the lantern square base.

26. Apply glue to the top two tabs of the Lantern square base and secure to the inside of the sides.

27. Repeat for the bottom two tabs creating a shallow box.

28. It should look like this:)

29.-30. Place a flameless candle inside and the lantern top in it’s base.( I used a W 2.75” x H 4” pillar flameless candle).

Iris Tea Light (Flameless)

This design is compatible with both 8X12 and 12X12 mats and when vellum paper is used, an opaque lantern effect is created.

1. Cut design pieces. (I used double sided card stock and vellum paper)
2. Match up the petal outline shapes with the coordinating vellum shape. Glue the coordinating vellum piece to the front of the outline flower. ( You can also cut out another outline flower piece if you would like each side of the vellum flower to have the outline detail:)
3. Fold the tabs of the tea light base ( long narrow strip with tabs). Tuck the end tab into the slot creating a circular tube shape. Apply a small dab of glue on the tab to hold in place. Apply a small dab of glue on the tab to hold in place.    
4. Place the two narrow circular ring pieces over the tube shape you just created. One toward the top and one toward the bottom.
5. Apply glue to the outside of one of the rows of tabs and secure to the narrow ring.

7. Repeat for the other set of tabs and circular ring. Image of step completed.
8. Apply glue to the tops of the ring and tabs on one side. Secure the thicker circular ring to the top.

10. Flip the combined tube over. Place a flameless votive candle inside the tube. Apply glue to the tops of the ring and tabs. Secure the thicker circular ring to the top.
11. Curve the combined flower and leaves as you like. (I curved two of the leaves up and two down. I curved one set of the flower petals down and flipped the other set on it’s backside and then curved the petals up toward the center.)
12. Apply glue to the backside of the leaves at the points where they make contact with the tea light base and attach to the tea light base.
13. Apply glue to the bottom of the flower petals curved downward and secure to the tea light base.
14. Apply glue to the bottom of the flower petals curved upward and secure to the tea light base:)

Poinsettia Lantern (Flameless)

Poinsettia Lantern (Flameless)-JMRush

Approximate Lantern size: W 3 x D 3 x H 7” (H 7.75” with Hanger)

This Flameless lantern features a 3D poinsettia flower. A transparent frosted effect is created when vellum paper is used. This design is compatible with both 8X12 and 12X12 mats.

1.Cut design pieces. ( I used double sided card stock and vellum paper) ( There is a small flower center shape that is optional in this file. I used an enamel dot in the center of the flower instead)

2. Match up the petal outline shapes with the coordinating vellum shapes. (You may need to rotate the matched sets to get them to align as they are irregular shapes. Glue the coordinating vellum pieces to the backside of the outline flowers. (I did not glue the inside vein designs of the petals).

3.-4.Glue the circular shaped hangers together. (Make sure the stems of this piece remain separate)

5. -6.Apply glue to the backside of the 3 open rectangle mats and the one rectangular mat with a flower shape. Center and secure to the front of each window on the two lantern body pieces. Place the flower rectangular mat on the first lantern body window ( Do not apply glue to the backside of the flower or petals)

7. Flip the two combined lantern body pieces over ( pretty side down and as shown). Glue the edges of the rectangular vellum piece, center, and secure to each open window.

8. Fold the score lines on the two lantern bodies and the lantern square base.

9. Glue one of the stems of the circular hanger combined piece to the inside of the top of the second panel. (The other stem will be glued inside the lantern later)

10. Center the two lantern body pieces. Apply glue to the backside of the right side tab on the left lantern body piece. Attach to the other lantern piece making sure that the bottoms align (joining the two body pieces). 

11. -12-13. Apply glue to the side long tab on the right side of the right lantern body piece. Secure the long side tab to the other side creating a box.

14. Apply glue to the top tab with the circle hanger and secure it to the triangular panel to it’s left side.

16.-17. Repeat for the next tab.

18. Apply glue to the remaining unsecured circular hanger stem. Secure it to the opposite side of the lantern top.

19. Continue securing the top tabs until the top is fully enclosed. ( I applied glue to the last two top tabs at the same time and secured them)

20. Curve your combined flowers and leaves as you like. Glue the centers of the two larger combined flower petal pieces together; staggering the flower petals. Glue the centers of the three smaller combined flower petals together. Largest on bottom and smallest on top and alternating the petals. This is what it should look like. I used enamel adhesive dots to decorate the center of the combined flower piece.

21. Apply glue to the inside ring (front side) of the leaves. 

22. Secure the bottom of the combined flower to the inside ring of the leaves. 

23. Use a foam adhesive square to attach the combined flower/leaf piece  to the coordinating shape on the combined lantern body. Apply glue to the top two tabs of the Lantern square base and secure to the inside of the sides.

24. Repeat for the bottom two tabs creating a shallow box.

25. Place a flameless candle inside and the lantern top in it’s base.

26. I finished with a ribbon on the circular hanger at the top of the lantern:)

Skull Lantern (Flameless)

Lantern size: W 3 x D 3 x H 7”

This Flameless lantern features cut out Skull and Spider Web designs on each of the four sides. A layered transparent frosted effect is created when vellum paper is used. This design is compatible with both 8X12 and 12X12 mats.

1.Cut design pieces. ( I used double sided card stock and vellum paper)

2. Flip the two lantern pieces over ( pretty side down) Fold the score lines of the lantern body. Center the two lantern body pieces. Apply glue to the backside of the right side tab on the left lantern body piece. Attach to the other lantern piece making sure that the bottoms align (joining the two body pieces).

3. Glue the rectangular vellum pieces to the open areas of the lantern body- centering each rectangle with the open window area of the lantern body.

4.-5. Glue the circular hangers together. ( Make sure the stems of this piece remain separate)

6. Glue one of the stems to the inside of the top of the third from the left window panel. (The other stem will be glued inside the lantern later)

7. Apply glue to the side long tab on the very right side. Secure the long side tab to the other side creating a box.

8. Apply glue to the top tab with the circular hanger and secure it to the triangular panel to it’s left side.

9. -10. Repeat for all of the tabs. Apply glue to the other side of the circular hanger piece and secure to the opposite side inside the lantern.

Continue applying glue to the top tabs until the top is complete.

11. -12. Using a ruler, line the edge of the ruler along the score line and fold upward on each side of the webbed mat.

13. Pinch the corners and fold at the angled score line on the web window. The last three steps are to create a 3D frame-like web window.

14. Apply glue to the backside of the web window just along the very inside edges.

15. Center and secure to the matching inside rectangle shape of the lantern body. Using pieces of square foam adhesive, center and secure the skull shapes on the coordinating skull shape on the lantern body. Repeat for every side.

16. Fold the score lines on the lantern square base. Apply glue to the top two tabs of the Lantern square base and secure to the inside of the sides.

17. Repeat for the bottom two tabs creating a shallow box.

22. Place a flameless candle inside and the lantern body in it’s base. I finished with a ribbon on top:)

Monarch Butterfly Tea Light Lantern (Flameless)

1. Cut design pieces. (I used double sided card stock and vellum paper)
2. Glue each outline butterfly piece to the coordinating butterfly base. ( There will be an extra outlined butterfly.) Fold the score lines in the lantern base piece.
3. Glue the other outline butterfly to the back of the combined coordinating butterfly shape ( so there is a outlined butterfly on the front and on the back). Apply a dab of glue to the inside of the lantern base just under the slot. (This will help to secure the tab when it passes through.) Tuck the end tab into the slot creating a circular tube shape.
4. Place the one of the narrow circular ring pieces over the tube shape you just created. Apply glue to the outside of one of the rows of tabs and secure downward to the narrow ring.
5. Apply glue to the tops of the ring and tabs and secure the thicker circular ring to the top.
6. Flip the lantern base so that the rings are on the bottom. Apply hot glue to inside of the lantern base so that you can secure the flameless tea light inside the tube. ( It may be easier to work form the bottom:) Place the tea light inside and secure.
7. Fit the second narrow ring around the other side of the tube. Apply glue to the outside of the tabs and secure to the narrow ring.
8. Fold the tabs in the center of the combined butterfly (with a hole in the center) down and the tabs in the circular piece with tabs up. Apply glue to the tops of the ring and tabs and secure the thicker circular tab ring to the top. (tabs facing upward)
9. Apply glue to the insides of the upward tabs.
10. Secure the tabs of the combined butterfly with a hole in the center and tabs to the tabs on the lantern base. (butterfly tabs go on the inside).
11. Allow to dry.
12. Curve the three layered butterfly and apply glue along the bottom vertical center line.
13. Secure to the center of the combined butterfly lantern base and combine the antennas and tail sections. Allow to dry:)

Lattice Rose Lantern (Flameless)

This Flameless Lattice Rose Lantern features cut outs to simulate the look of lattice. This design is compatible with both 8X12 and 12X12 mats.

1.Cut design pieces. ( I used double sided card stock)

2. Fold the score lines of the lantern body. Center the two lantern body pieces. Apply glue to the backside of the left side tab on the right body lantern piece. Attach to the other lantern piece making sure that the bottoms align (joining the two body pieces).

3. Glue the lattice rectangles to the open panels on the combined lantern body, centering each one.

4.-6. Glue the circular hangers together. ( Make sure the stems of this piece remain separate) Glue one of the stems to the inside of the top of the third from the left window panel. (The other stem will be glued inside the lantern later)

7. Apply glue to the top tab and to the side long tab on the very left side. Secure the long side tab to the other side creating a box.

8. This is what it should look like:)

9. Applying glue to one top tab at a time, begin to secure the top tabs to the inside of the next angled triangle.  The other Circular hanger stem will be glued to the inside of the opposite side of the lantern.

10. Apply glue to the top tabs of the Lantern square base and secure to the inside of the sides.

11. Repeat for the bottom tabs creating a shallow box.

12. Glue the grass design to each side of the lantern square base.

13. Curve your flower petals and leaves as you like.

14. Use pieces of foam adhesive squares to attach the three largest flower petal pieces. Largest on bottom and offsetting the petal placement. Glue the smallest flower petal piece and place a enamel dot in the center. 

15. Use a foam adhesive square to attach the rose to the top and glue the leaves underneath.

16. Place the lantern top in it’s base. Finish with by placing a flameless candle inside:)

Valentine Lattice Lantern (Flameless)

Lantern size: W 3 x D 3 x H 7”

This Flameless Valentine Lattice Lantern features cut outs and when vellum paper is used, a layered transparent frosted effect is created. This design is compatible with both 8X12 and 12X12 mats. 

1.Cut design pieces. ( This picture shows the small heart detail stacked)

2. Flip the two lantern base pieces over. Center the heart panels to each window in the lantern base face down. Apply glue and secure into place.

3. Glue the vellum rectangles on top of the heart panels, centering each one.

4. Fold all score lines. 

5.Apply glue to the long side tab of the lantern window base and secure to the other lantern window base piece.

6. This is what it should look like:)

7.-9. Glue the circular hangers together. ( Make sure the stems of this piece remain separate) Glue one of the stems to the inside of the top of the third from the left window panel. (The other stem will be glued inside the lantern later)

10.Flip the lantern so the face is up. Glue the open rectangle pieces to each window.

11. Flip the lantern face down again. Apply glue to the top tab and to the side long tab on the very left side.

12. Secure the Long side tab to the other side creating a box.

Applying glue to one top tab at a time, begin to secure the top tabs to the inside of the next angled triangle.  The other Circular hanger stem will be glued to the inside of the opposite side of the lantern.

13. Finish securing all of the top tabs.

14. Apply glue to the top tabs of the Lantern square base and secure to the inside of the sides.

15. Repeat for the bottom tabs creating a shallow box.

16. Glue the small open heart design to the solid heart.

17. Using a foam adhesive square, attach the combined hearts to the heart base.

15. Place the lantern top in it’s base. Finish with a ribbon and place a flameless candle inside:) I used another adhesive square to attach the heart to the top of the lantern.

Winter Woodland Lantern (Flameless)

Winter Woodland Lantern (Flameless)-JMRush

Lantern size: W 3 x D 3 x H 7”

This Flameless Snowflake Lantern features cut outs and when vellum paper is used, a layered frosted glass effect is created. This design is compatible with both 8X12 and 12X12 mats.

1.Cut design pieces. ( The trees are easier to remove from the mat if you work them off starting at the bottom.)

2. Glue the coordinating panels together-(Larger one goes on the back)

3. Apply glue to the edges of the backside of the combined panels.

4.Attach the vellum rectangles to the backside of the panels.

5.Flip the lantern base over (pretty side down) Glue the panels on the lantern base. 

6. You will need to flip the lantern over to check to make sure each panel is aligned and centered.

7.Fold all score lines.

8. Apply glue to the bottom of the long side tab on the very right side of the first lantern base section. Align the other lantern base section and secure the long side tab.

9. Apply glue to the bottom of the long side tab on the very right side of the combined lantern base section. Secure it to the inside of the other side creating a box.

10. Glue the circular hangers together. ( Make sure the stems of this piece remain separate) 

11. Apply glue to the outside of one of the stems.

12. Glue one of the stems to the inside of the top of the window panel that you want to be the front of your lantern.

13.Apply glue to the top tab next to the circular hanger you just placed. Begin to secure the top tabs to the inside of the next angled triangle.

14. Apply glue to the remaining circular hanger stem.  Continue to secure the top tabs. Attach the other Circular hanger stem to the inside of the opposite side of the lantern.

15.  Apply glue to the top tabs of the Lantern square base and secure to the inside of the sides.

16. Repeat for the bottom tabs creating a shallow box.

17. Finish with a ribbon and place a flameless candle inside by lifting the lantern top off of the lantern base. I used a color changing flameless candle to create the color in the image above:)

Reindeer Lantern Top Cookie Box (Flameless)

Reindeer Lantern Top Cookie Box (Flameless)-JMRush

size: W 3.25 x D 3.25 x H 5”

This Flameless Reindeer Lantern Cookie Box features cut outs and when vellum paper is used, a layered frosted glass effect is created. This design has a separate box that will fit 4 medium sized cookies. This design is compatible with both 8X12 and 12X12 mats.

1.Cut design pieces.

2. Flip the two Lantern top panels over. Apply glue to the bottom of the tab on the right side of the left panel. Align and secure to the next panel.

3.Glue the Vellum circle pieces over the reindeer cut outs.

4. Glue the circular hangers together. ( Make sure the stems of this piece remain separate)

5. Glue one of the stems to the inside of the top of the third reindeer panel.

6. Fold all score lines.

7. Apply glue to backside of the upper tab next to the circular hanger.

8. Connect this tab to the next reindeer panel lining up the seem.

9. Apply glue to the backside of the tab to the left of the circular hanger panel and connect it to the reindeer panel with the circular hanger again lining up the seems. ( make sure that one of the circular hanger stems is still free)

10.Repeat.

11.Repeat with the last tabs closing your box shape.

12.Glue the stem of the circular hanger directly across from where it is already glued. This is what it should look like.

13. Apply glue to the top tabs of the larger cookie square base and secure to the inside of the sides.

14. Repeat for the bottom tabs creating a box.

15. Apply glue to the top tabs of the smaller square candle base and secure to the inside of the sides.

16. Repeat for the bottom tabs creating a shallow box.

17.This is what your pieces should look like:)

18.Glue the decorative reindeer cut out to it’s base.

19. Using hot glue, attach a flameless votive candle to the top of the shallow candle base making sure that the switch is accessible through the rectangular cut.

20. Using 17” of ribbon, feed it through the cut slots on one side making the ends meet.

21. You will not want to finish the following steps until you are ready to insert the cookies/treats and deliver.  Place cookie in the bottom box and turn the candle on. Place the candle box on top of the cookie box and the lantern piece on top of all. Wrap the ribbon across the bottom and to the slots on the other side. Secure by placing the ribbon ends through the reindeer decorative piece. Your goodies are ready to go:)

Snowflake Lantern Top Cookie Box (Flameless)

Snowflake Lantern Top Cookie Box (Flameless)-JMRush 

size: W 3.25 x D 3.25 x H 5”

This Flameless Snowflake Lantern Cookie Box features cut outs and when vellum paper is used, a layered  frosted glass effect is created. This design has a separate box that will fit 4 medium sized cookies and the snowflake decorative piece doubles as a gift tag and ribbon end holder:) This design is compatible with both 8X12 and 12X12 mats.

1.Cut design pieces.

2. Flip the two Lantern top panels over. Apply glue to the bottom of the tab on the right side of the left panel. Align and secure to the next panel.

3.Glue the circular hangers together. ( Make sure the stems of this piece remain separate)

4. Glue one of the stems to the inside of the top of the third snowflake panel.

5. Fold all score lines.

6.Glue the vellum pieces into place over the snowflake cut out panel pieces.Apply glue to backside of the upper tab next to the circular hanger.

7. Connect this tab to the next Snowflake panel lining up the seem.

8. Apply glue to the backside of the tab to the left of the circular hanger panel and connect it to the snowflake panel with the circular hanger again lining up the seems. ( make sure that one of the circular hanger stems is still free)

9.Repeat.

10.Repeat with the last tabs closing your box shape.

11.Glue the stem of the circular hanger directly across from where it is already glued.

12. This is what it should look like.

13. Glue the largest snowflake cut out to the base.

14. I used a piece of foam adhesive square to attach the smaller snowflake to the combined snowflake base and used a adhesive jewel to decorate the center. 

15.  Apply glue to the top tabs of the larger cookie square base and secure to the inside of the sides.

16. Repeat for the bottom tabs creating a box.

17. Apply glue to the top tabs of the smaller square candle base and secure to the inside of the sides.

18. Repeat for the bottom tabs creating a shallow box.

19. Using hot glue, attach a flameless votive candle to the top of the shallow candle base making sure that the switch is accessible through the rectangular cut.

22. Using 17” of ribbon, feed it through the cut slots on one side making the ends meet.

23. You will not want to finish the following steps until you are ready to insert the cookies/treats and deliver.  Place cookie in the bottom box and turn the candle on. Place the candle box on top of the cookie box and the lantern piece on top of all. Wrap the ribbon across the bottom and to the slots on the other side. Secure by placing the ribbon ends through the snowflake decorative piece. Your goodies are ready to go:)
