Pumpkin Flip Top Box



Pumpkin Flip Top Box-JMRush

Approximate size: W 4" X  H 5.25” X D 1.5”

The Pumpkin Flip Top Box has a top that is attached to the box base on one side and a tab closure on the other side. This file is great for party favors or to use as a centerpiece for your Autumn parties. This design is compatible with 8x12 or 12X12 mats.

1.Cut design pieces. ( I used double sided card stock)
2. Flip Box base over ( pretty side down) just as image shows. Fold score lines up on the box base pieces.
3. Align the box base pieces so that the larger pieces is on the left and has the tab on the lower left and the smaller piece is on the right and has the small indented tab on the upper right. Apply glue to the backside of the long side tab on the right side smaller box base piece. Align with the edge of the other box base and secure. ( You want the tab to be on the inside of your box).
4. Apply glue to the small side tabs- one on the top and one on the bottom ( where my thumb and finger are in the picture). Secure to the rectangular tab shapes creating 90 degree angles.
5. Apply glue to the backside of the tabs closest to the outside the left box base- one on the top and one on the bottom ( where my thumb and finger are pointing). Secure to the tab directly below for the top tab and directly above for the lower tab.
6. Apply glue to the backside of the tabs closest to the center- one on the top and one on the bottom of the right side box base. Secure to the center strip.
7. Apply glue to the outer sides of the 90 degree angles on the outside of the right bottom section. Secure to the inside of the left box base sections creating a box and lining up the edges.
8. Apply glue to the outer sides of the 90 degree angles on the outside of the right upper section. Secure to the inside of the left box base
9. Your box is now complete:) Tuck the closure tab into the slot in the bottom section to close.
10. Glue the two stem leaf pieces together on the stem part only ( make sure that the half circle tabs  at the bottom and leaf shapes are still separate.)
11. Glue the two small stem designs to each side of the combined stem/leaf piece. Curl the leaves as you like and insert the half circle tabs of the combined stem piece into the top of your box. Glue the pumpkin design pieces to the front of your box as shown.
12. Inside the top of the box base, apply glue to outer side of the two half circle tab pieces. Secure to the inside of the top of the box base.
13.  Finish by adding a ribbon. Fill with goodies and enjoy:)

Flamingo Flip Top Box

1.Cut design pieces.
2. Flip Box base over ( pretty side down) Fold score lines up.
3. Align the box bases so that the tab is on the upper right side and the indented tab in on the lower left ( where my finger is pointing).
4. Line up the box base sections as the picture shows. Apply glue to the backside of the center long tab on the left hand box base. Secure the tab to the right box base section. ( You want the tab to be on the inside of your box)
5. Apply glue to the small side tabs- one on the top and one on the bottom ( where my thumb and finger are in the picture). Secure to the rectangular tab shapes creating 90 degree angles.
6. Apply glue to the backside of the tabs closest to the outside the right box base- one on the top and one on the bottom ( where my thumb and finger are pointing). Secure to the tab directly below for the top tab and directly above for the lower tab.
7. Apply glue to the backside of the tabs closest to the center- one on the top and one on the bottom of the right side box base. Secure to the center strip.
8. Apply glue to the bottom of the 90 degree angles on the outside of the left upper and bottom section. Secure to the inside of the left box base sections creating a box and lining up the edges.
9. This is what it should look like:)
10. Your box is now complete:) Tuck the closure tab into the slot in the bottom section to close.
11. Glue the flamingo base to the upper section ( tab on the upper right side of the box). Glue the flamingo leg to the center bottom of the box base.
12. Using foam adhesive squares, attach the wings together with the largest one on the bottom.
13. Glue the eye and beak on the flamingo head. Attach the combined wing section to the flamingo on the box base.
14.  Finish by adding an enamel dot for an eye and attach a ribbon. Fill with goodies and enjoy:)

10. Secure the rectangular flaps to the left
11. Apply glue to the outside edges of the 90 degree angle on the right lower section. 
12. Secure to the inside of the left lower section.
13. Repeat for the upper section.
14. This is what your box should look like.
15. I flipped the box so that the tab is on the right upper section. Tuck the tab into the slot on the lower section to close.
16. Glue the two largest pieces (solid) to the front of your box.
17. Glue the cut out swim trunk design piece to the short solid swim trunk design piece. Glue the belly button ( small circle) to the box base.
18. Glue the thin strip with cut outs to the top of the lower section. Use foam adhesive squares to attach the combined swim trunks.
19. Finish with ribbon for the tie string of the swim trunks:)

16. Curve the leaves of the grass skirt sections.
17. Glue the largest grass skirt piece to the top of the lower section- centering it and aligning it at the top. Glue the belly button (small circle) on.
18. Use foam adhesive squares to attach the coconut bra shape to the top section. Apply glue to the backside of the small grass skirt piece on the very left and very right. Place an adhesive foam square in the center. Secure to the top of the lower section.
19. I used small enamel dots for the centers of the flowers.
20. I curved the petals of the flowers.
21. Glue the flowers into place:)

Pineapple Flip Top Box

1.Cut design pieces. ( I used double sided card stock) ( There is a small rectangular piece that is missing from the images of the beginning of this tutorial)
2. Line up the box base sections as the picture shows. Fold the tab on the right side section and apply glue to the tabs backside.
3. Secure the tab to the left box base section. ( You want the tab to be on the inside of your box) Fold the score lines on the right side of the box base.
4. Apply glue to the small side tabs- one on the top and one on the bottom ( where my thumb and finger are in the picture)
5. Secure to the rectangular tab shapes creating 90 degree angles.
6. Fold the score lines on the left side of the box base.
7. Apply glue to the backside of the tabs closest to the center- one on the top and one on the bottom. 
8. Secure to the center strip.
9. Apply glue to the bottom of the 90 degree angle on the right bottom section. Secure the rectangular flap on the left side, lining up the edges.
10. This is what it should look like:)
11. Repeat for the upper 90 degree section on the right side.
12. This is what it should look like. Apply glue to the bottom section where the small tab intersects. Secure the tab and repeat for the other side.
13. Apply glue to the entire end and secure the side flap aligning the edges. 
14. Repeat for the other side.
15. Your box is now complete:) Tuck the closure tab into the slot in the bottom section to close.


16. Picture of the pineapple box.
17. Glue the two largest pineapple pieces (solid) to the front of your box.
18. Glue the next largest double grouping.
19. Glue the third largest double grouping got the box base. Secure the smallest pineapple design to the second largest- centering it and aligning the edges.
20. Use foam adhesive squares to attach the small combined section to the box base aligning the edges.
21. Curve your stem leaves as you like.
22. Apply glue to the backside of the bottom most leaf on the left of one of the leaf groupings.
23. Connect the leaf on the other side aligning the leaf shapes. This creates a circular funnel shape.
24. This is what it should look like:)
25. Repeat for all 3 stem leaf sections.
26. Roll the tab on the largest leaf group in toward the center ( to make it a bit smaller.) Tuck the rolled tab of the largest leaf grouping through the center of the medium sized leaf grouping.
27. Roll the tab on the medium sized leaf grouping and tuck both the large and medium tabs through the center of the smallest leaf grouping.
28. Tuck all three tabs into the slot on the top of your pineapple box.
29. Apply glue to the backsides of your tabs on the inside of the box.
30. Position your leaf groupings as you like adjusting the height of each section. Secure the tabs to the top of the box.



31. Apply glue to the back of the rectangle top piece. (This is the design piece that was not shown in the beginning of this tutorial).
32. Place the glued side of the rectangle piece down into the top inside of the box lid to cover the leaf tabs.
33. I used pieces of foam adhesive squares to join the leaf sections together and give them additional support.
